Managing Director - Errol Watler

Errol has been actively involved in the events business on and off over the last 35 years. One of the founding members of the Cayman Island Music & Entertainment Association, he was active in musical promotions and productions on the Island from as far back as the 70s. His love of music lead him to open his own music store, Funky Tangs, which to date remains one of the leading entertainment stores on the Island.

In the mid-70s Errol came up with the concept for the “Magic Showcase” an annual event held on Boxing Day each year which featured all the best local talent and attracted around 1,200 attendees each year. Errol was instrumental in the production of this extremely successful event that run for in excess of 15 years. Errol was also a member of one of the most popular bands in Cayman, the “Memory of Justice Band” performing in Reggae Sunsplash and Reggae Superjam in Jamaica, as well touring in Belize, Hondoras and North America in the mid-80s.

In addition to his love of music, Errol also has a great passion for Agriculture and served for more than 10 years as President of the Cayman Islands Agricultural Society (only retiring from the position this year). He is one of the main organizers in the promotion and production of the CI Agricultural Show, an event which draws 7,000 – 8,000 people each year and is the largest event held in the Cayman Islands falling each year on Ash Wednesday. .

With his own farm, “Sparkies Amazing Farm” based in the East End of the Island Errol has helped to implement modern farming techniques here in Cayman, educating other local farmers and encouraging the expansion and growth of local production. Errol also played a major role in both the concept and production of the Market at the Grounds in 2006, a market that is held on Saturday mornings at the Agricultural Grounds where local produce can be bought right from the source. Errol’s farm also provides an increasingly popular Coconut Vendor service for weddings and events that has become extremely popular with both Destination and Local Weddings alike. Servers cut fresh coconuts there on site for guests to enjoy a shot or 2 of rum is optional!

Errol is very excited about the future of Five Star Wedding and Event Productions and is looking forward to working closely with Juliette to produce new and exciting local events as well as supplying the best possible service and welcome to our Destination clients.
